START WITH YOUR JOBSITE
Before you shop for non-slip work boots, look down at what you stand on all day. Wet tile in a kitchen, an oil-slick garage bay, a greasy plant floor, an icy loading dock, uneven ground on a farm. Each one grabs your boot differently, and the wrong pick turns a normal shift into a blown outsole, a rolled ankle, or a trip to urgent care. The Bureau of Labor Statistics logged 479,480 days-away-from-work cases from falls, slips, and trips in 2024. Match the boot to your floor, and you stay on your feet.
THE KEY DECISIONS FOR NON-SLIP WORK BOOTS
Four choices decide whether a boot works for you. Here's what each one means and who it's for.
Toe type. A soft toe keeps things light and flexible when you don't face crush hazards. A nano composite safety toe protects against impact and compression while running 15% lighter than steel, so your feet aren't dragging bricks by hour ten. Our BRUNT Toe™ splits the difference for trades that want protection without the bulk.
Waterproofing. If you work in rain, snow, or standing water, our proprietary waterproof membrane keeps feet dry. On farms and barnyards, FARMGUARD™ barnyard-resistant leather repels water, mud, and oil so the muck stays outside.
Boot height. A 4" boot cuts weight for flat, dry floors and long shifts. A 6" boot adds ankle support for ladders, uneven terrain, and heavier loads.
Outsole traction. This is the whole ballgame for slip resistance. Loss of traction is the leading cause of workplace slips, per OSHA. Every BRUNT boot rides on a proprietary rubber outsole with 5mm lugs that resists oil, slips, chemicals, and high heat up to 572°F.

FAQ
Are regular work boots considered non-slip?
Not automatically. A boot is only non-slip if its outsole is built and tested to resist slipping. Plenty of work boots protect your toes but skate on wet or oily floors. Check the outsole and the traction standard before you trust it.
How can you tell if a work boot is genuinely slip-resistant?
Look for ASTM F2913. That's the standard test method for a boot's coefficient of friction, which is the actual grip your outsole has on a surface. Don't confuse it with ASTM F2413, which covers safety-toe impact, compression, and electrical hazard protection but says nothing about slip resistance. BRUNT boots meet both. Then do the real check: wear them on your own floor.
What should you look for in non-slip boots for long shifts?
Traction plus comfort you can back up. Start with an oil- and slip-resistant outsole, then look at the insole. Our CUSH'N® multi-layer insoles pair memory foam with an anti-odor treatment and return up to 30% of your energy back with every step. If your feet run wide, the SWITCH-FIT™ adjustable width system converts a regular (D) boot to wide (EE) without buying a different size.
