Andy Mulder is a hardscape business owner based out of northwest Indiana where he and his crew are moving acres of earth every day and hardscaping some of the most valuable properties in the midwest. We recommend BRUNT’s Leather Conditioner to help you get the most out of your work boots. This proprietary blend of mink oil, beeswax, and natural additives protects and extends the life of your leather. The mink oil replenishes natural oils, while the beeswax seals them in and adds a barrier against scuffs and tough jobsite conditions. Because of their reinforced build, welted boots are built to take a beating and they provide a higher degree of stabilization for your foot and ankle which makes navigating uneven footing much easier. And because of the mechanical bond created in the welting process, a Goodyear welt has best-in-class waterproofing, plus a resoleable design that allows you to replace the outsole to extend the overall life of the boot.

When it comes to a welted boot, think uneven terrain and unpredictable conditions. A welted boot is incredibly durable by nature and is best suited for heavy-duty jobs. To name a few specific trades who would benefit from a welted boot: road workers, commercial builders, pipefitting and welding, resource extraction, railroad, linemen, and waste workers.

A Goodyear welted work boot features an additional midsole layer that’s built into the boot to create torsional rigidity for additional stability and durability. This welt is formed by connecting the upper part of a shoe to the midsole of the shoe in a three step process: stapling the upper to the insole, stitching the upper to the insole, and then stitching the upper and the midsole together. This physical entanglement of fibers creates a very strong mechanical bond between the two main parts of the shoe, and provides a very durable build with a high degree of waterproofness. It also allows the outsole of the boot to be replaced—or “resoled”—after extended periods of hard use.

    This is my second pair of Brunt mulder welteds. First pair lasted me a year and a half then gave up above where the sole would be replaced, rendering that option undoable. But! This is the best boot my feet have ever lived in! Came back for a second pair, these are where it’s at! My feet have tromped up and down flightlines all over the world in military issued boots, spent countless on pavement in big name work boots, but these are the ones I wish would have been introduced to me 20 years ago. **** fine product!

    Ups delivery guy here. Decent boot. Looks nice warm and waterproof. Comfortable Lot of room in the toe box. I got the extra wide since my feet are all messed up with bunions. I'm not sure how they'll last but so far so good.

    Fantastic Boot

    I have been buying from Brunt for about 4 yrs now. This is my 4th pair of boots from them. I work in the Transportation/ Quarry industry and walking on rocks all day can take a toll on your feet not to mention your boots. I can get about a year out of a pair and have found these to be the most comfortable boots right out of the box. I have purchased other boots that take 3 to 4 weeks to break in and end up hurting my feet with blisters. Not Brunt, I put them on and right away I have no problems. I wear them all day and they feel awesome with no issues. I would highly recommend them for your boot needs.

    Best boot I've ever had.

    This is my third pair. These are the most comfortable boots I've ever had, they are actually 100% waterproof, and keep my feet warm even in snow and ice conditions. The company stands behind their products 100%
