Engineered with a resoleable Goodyear welt construction for additional support and stability, the USA Marin 6” Welted BRUNT Toe™ Waterproof (Comp Toe) is an ultra-durable boot built for the most demanding jobsites. It features an exterior toe cap and heel guard that are stitched into the boot to protect high-wear areas from breaking down, and comes equipped with a nano composite safety toe and a slip-, oil-, and high-heat-resistant outsole. Plus, it has a proprietary waterproof membrane that keeps your feet dry and our BRUNT FARMGUARD™ leather that extends the life of your boots while repelling rain, mud, oil, piss, and sh*t. The USA Marin is Built in the USA with domestic and globally sourced components, and delivers next-level comfort thanks to our BRUNT CUSH’N® insole system and an ultra-cushioned PU midsole.

THE MARIN STORY

Matt Marin is one of my first childhood friends and the namesake for one of our bestselling boots. At a young age he joined a carpenter’s union and was quickly promoted to foreman. He really appreciated the moc-toe boot style, but was sick of paying a hefty price each time he needed a new pair, and hated the break-in period that came with it. The USA Marin 6” Welted BRUNT Toe™ Waterproof (Comp Toe) is a heavy-duty boot built from leathers sourced from U.S. steer - the highest quality hides available. At 2 lb. 4 oz (size 9) with a welted construction, it delivers premium, durable materials without the extra bulk.

We recommend BRUNT’s Leather Conditioner to help you get the most out of your work boots. This proprietary blend of mink oil, beeswax, and natural additives protects and extends the life of your leather. The mink oil replenishes natural oils, while the beeswax seals them in and adds a barrier against scuffs and tough jobsite conditions. For best results, apply with our 100% horsehair brush - built for precise cleaning and conditioning.

Because of their reinforced build, welted boots are built to take a beating and they provide a higher degree of stabilization for your foot and ankle which makes navigating uneven footing much easier. And because of the mechanical bond created in the welting process, a Goodyear welt has best-in-class waterproofing, plus a resoleable design that allows you to replace the outsole to extend the overall life of the boot.

What types of jobs are welted boots best for?

When it comes to a welted boot, think uneven terrain and unpredictable conditions. A welted boot is incredibly durable by nature and is best suited for heavy-duty jobs. To name a few specific trades who would benefit from a welted boot: road workers, commercial builders, pipefitting and welding, resource extraction, railroad, linemen, and waste workers.

What is a welted or Goodyear welted boot?

A Goodyear welted work boot features an additional midsole layer that’s built into the boot to create torsional rigidity for additional stability and durability. This welt is formed by connecting the upper part of a shoe to the midsole of the shoe in a three step process: stapling the upper to the insole, stitching the upper to the insole, and then stitching the upper and the midsole together. This physical entanglement of fibers creates a very strong mechanical bond between the two main parts of the shoe, and provides a very durable build with a high degree of waterproofness. It also allows the outsole of the boot to be replaced—or “resoled”—after extended periods of hard use.
