The 10” square toe Vastbinder Welted delivers superior comfort, performance, and breathability. This proprietary blend of mink oil, beeswax, and natural additives protects and extends the life of your leather. The primary benefit of a square toe boot is the increased comfort it provides due to a wider toe box, allowing for more room for your toes to spread out naturally. Great for people with wide feet or who need to be on their feet for long periods of time; making them ideal for ranch work or everyday wear where comfort is prioritized.

Because of their reinforced build, welted boots are built to take a beating and they provide a higher degree of stabilization for your foot and ankle which makes navigating uneven footing much easier. And because of the mechanical bond created in the welting process, a Goodyear welt has best-in-class waterproofing, plus a resoleable design that allows you to replace the outsole to extend the overall life of the boot.

When it comes to a welted boot, think uneven terrain and unpredictable conditions. A welted boot is incredibly durable by nature and is best suited for heavy-duty jobs. To name a few specific trades who would benefit from a welted boot: road workers, commercial builders, pipefitting and welding, resource extraction, railroad, linemen, and waste workers.

A Goodyear welted work boot features an additional midsole layer that’s built into the boot to create torsional rigidity for additional stability and durability. This welt is formed by connecting the upper part of a shoe to the midsole of the shoe in a three step process: stapling the upper to the insole, stitching the upper to the insole, and then stitching the upper and the midsole together. This physical entanglement of fibers creates a very strong mechanical bond between the two main parts of the shoe, and provides a very durable build with a high degree of waterproofness. It also allows the outsole of the boot to be replaced—or “resoled”—after extended periods of hard use.

    My boots

    These worked great, but I’m a heavy guy.I am an aircraft mechanic and the Cush’N technology was too squishy for me. I almost rolled my ankle while performing a walk around a 747 in Alaska. Ice chunks on the ramp are sneaky and awfully crafty . These may work if I were lighter.

    Nice Fit and Slip Resistant

    I was on the hunt for new safety to boots for oilfield work. I came off a long-lasting pair of Justin's, but was never from the get-go happy with the slippery-ness of the sole. I saw someone recommend Brunt and was pleased that they offered a waterproof safety toe boot and the sole had a good, grippy hiking-boot like sole. The build quality is great and they are pretty comfy out of the box. The toe is a tad tall for my liking compared to other safety toe boots I have owned in the past (Ariat and Justin). My only real complaint with these boots is the size chart for women. In my opinion, the size chart is off by 1/2 a size. The chart indicated I should get a men's 8, and despite my subconscious telling me to go with my usual size of men's 7.5 (I am a women's 9.5), I went ahead and ordered the 8 because I have found cowboy boot sizing to be all over the place. As anticipated, the boots were too big and my feet moved around all over the place inside, especially the heel. Even with thick socks they were too big and I figured the problem would only increase as they broke in. So I, personally, believe women should go with 1/2 size smaller than indicated by the size chart. But fortunately, their exchange policy is very helpful, and no matter which way you go, you can rest assured knowing that they will exchange without a hassle.

    He loves them!

    We purchased these boots for an employee and he was truly shocked when he received them for an early Christmas gift this year. He just kept saying "these are really nice boots!" He was very happy to get them but also didn't want to ruin them by wearing them. I told him he had to make sure to protect them first but he was to wear them to work, that is what they are for. He has since fallen in love with them and I am pretty sure he doesn't take them off.

    So comfortable right out of the box

    Just got my first pair of Brunt’s would highly recommend. I’ve only been wearing them for an hour or so very comfortable right out of the box.
